Following many requests Akbuk Rob has cobbled together the following Akbuk restaurants reviews. I have tried my best to be accurate & impartial and I will do my best to keep this page up to date but with so many places events may overtake me. If you are new to Akbuk we do hope you will try as many of our restaurants your digestion will allow. English is spoken in all restaurants listed.
The smiley rating 1 to 5
I have based this on my opinion of overall, service, food quality, comfort, cleanliness, condition of toilets and prices. For example Garden Mehmet Restaurant has a higher rating than Garden Restaurant, this is because it is cheaper but if you want more up market the Garden Restaurant is for you. Use the smiley rating as a rough guide only, it is just my opinion and we all have different preferences.

Akbuk Restaurant ☻☻☻☻ Last Reviewed July 2009
Closed for winter
Built & opened 2008 this restaurant is well worth a visit, very comfortable, toilets and kitchen are spotless, service is excellent, the food is great and the prices are very reasonable. A great restaurant but don't be late, they close early. Take away service available.
Akvaryum ☻☻☻☻ Last Reviewed October 2009
Opened 2008 the Akvaryum has become very popular offering friendly service and a good selection of really nice foods, several choices of steaks and lovely Sunday lunches. Prices are very reasonable, toilets are clean & modern. The Tuborg beer on draught is the cheapest beer in Akbuk at 2.5TL. The music is often a bit loud but this is a very lively restaurant & bar. Free car service is available and free wireless internet access.
Ali Baba ☻☻☻ Last Reviewed May 2009
This small Turkish outdoor restaurant is owned & run by the former head chef of Pizza Hatti with his wife and son. The food which is all cooked by Ali himself is excellent and very keenly priced. Fast service and a very friendly welcome, definitely worth a visit. Only one toilet which is the Ottoman style hole in the floor, but very clean.
Aydinhan Restaurant
☻☻☻ Last Reviewed August 2009
Closed for winter
Very smart looking restaurant and this year beer prices are cheap. However since new management took over in May, reports have not been good, very slow service, waiters not very smart and food prices well over the top. This restaurant has the location and the facilities to be something special, but sadly not there yet.
Aygun Restaurant ☻☻ Last Reviewed June 2009
Closed for winter
Very recently opened this is the old Altinuc restaurant, now with new owners & staff. When we ate there the food was superb and the service pretty good, but every time we ordered beers they had to fetch them from a nearby shop, the gents toilets consist of one Ottoman style hole in the floor and one European style which was smashed, the ladies toilet was ok, at the end of the evening a fight broke out among the staff which resulted in one person being knocked unconscious after his head met with the concrete ground, our guests were very upset, in fact a frail little lady who was with us was terrified. In fairness I have to give it 2 stars because the food was so good. Free car service is available (if it is not running staff members to hospital).
Camli Seafood Restaurant ☻☻☻ Last Reviewed June 2009
If you like fish this is the restaurant for you. Located about 1 mile from the town centre and just off the main road so you need to look for the sign. Personally I am not a fish lover but friends and customers say it is excellent, the menu also has chicken and kofte etc. Central heating in the winter. Most likely free local car service (I have not checked).
Celebi ☻☻☻ Last Reviewed October 2009
Popular with some British ex-pats, freshly cooked food, very tasty, reasonably priced. Extended and refurbished in 2008, seats could be more comfortable. Yilmas the owner is a very nice man who slaves at his wood burning oven hour after hour. Take away service available. Free wireless internet access. Quiz night every Friday.
Derby Hotel ☻☻☻ Last Reviewed May 2009
In its own class because of the lovely pool, if you buy a meal or spend a bit on drinks you can use it for free or just sunbathe, if you are charged it is not a lot 5TL (best to agree with the manager first). Food is good and well presented, however drinks prices have increased this year and are now probably the most expensive in Akbuk. Friendly staff, no hassle, a nice relaxing place. The restaurant & bar is behind the main hotel building or accessed from the coast road.
Garden Restaurant ☻☻☻☻ Last Reviewed July 2009
Always been a favourite with many people, not expensive but high quality. The Garden Restaurant has been here for several years, it is smart & clean with a great menu, the food is certainly 1st class. The owner is very professional and the waiters smart. Toilets are smart & clean. This is a very comfortable restaurant.
Garden Mehmet Restaurant ☻☻☻☻☻ Last Reviewed July 2009
Next to the Garden Restaurant and Pizza Hatti the Garden Mehmet (or Aile) is owned by the brother and former chef of the Garden, and boy do they look alike, I wasn’t sure which restaurant I was in. The food is top notch as is the service. The only difference between these two excellent restaurants is the price, Mehmet is cheaper, this is because it’s smaller & less fancy and has no toilets so you use either his brothers or the council toilet the other side, this is no bother and both toilets are well maintained. I have rated this restaurant the max 5 smilies but his brother's 4, this is only because Mehmet’s prices are cheaper, but if you want more high class go next door, in fact you should try them both.
Harbour Bar ☻☻☻ Last Reviewed June 2009 (For Sale)
As of December 2008 under new English management. Reports of the food are very good, a new full sized pool table has been installed and a quiz is held every Wednesday night. Free local car service available. The current proprietor is offering this business for sale, we will pass on contact details to any interested parties.
Kurfez Pizza Pansion
☻☻☻ Last Reviewed August 2009
A very Turkish restaurant, not big, not small. The food is very good, the patron who speaks good English will make you very welcome. Prices are amongst the cheapest in the town, very good value. The toilets, which are round the back, are a bit grotty and the chairs plastic but overall a very nice restaurant with a pleasant ambience.
Liberte Bar ☻☻ Last Reviewed July 2009
Situated in a great location right on the beach, the Liberte is very popular in the summer season for relaxing on the beach and drinking by the sea at night. Although well established the Liberte has all the facilities for offering restaurant food but at present its basically just snacks & chips. Free use of sunbeds & parasols if you buy drinks. Free wireless internet access. If only the seats were a little more comfortable!
Liman Cafe ☻☻☻ Last Reviewed July 2009
Locally known as Fishermen’s Bar or Harbour Bar this place has slowly grown over the years, it is still frequented by local Turkish fishermen. Everyone is very welcome and from the upstairs balcony you can enjoy panoramic views of the harbour and surrounding hills, from this location you can get the best photos of the harbour and sunsets, just click away, there is no charge. The staff are all Turkish and very nice people, no hassle. Toilets are a bit basic but ok, the ladies are upstairs & gents ground floor, watch out for men using the ladies (there’s no signs), food at this time is only snacks and you can get better elsewhere. This is a lovely bar where you can sit & watch the sun go down and the boats come & go in the harbour. Cannot rate this as a restaurant but you will miss out on the magic of Akbuk if you don’t have a drink here.
My Way ☻☻☻☻ Last Reviewed June 2009
The newly opened My Way restaurant & music bar offers Turkish cuisine and Indian curries, not the same as your local Kohinoor but very tasty. The Indian menu at the moment consists of 3 choices of starters and 7 choices of main course (all chicken and one vegetarian option. In addition a good choice of quality Turkish food is available. Located right by the sea, a short walk from the town centre, this restaurant has a beach area with parasols for relaxing in the sun. Gurkan the owner has more improvements planned and will very shortly be offering a take-away and home delivery service. Free wireless internet and free local car service available.
Pasa ☻☻☻☻ Last Reviewed October 2009
Pasa offers a very attractive bar and outside seating with great views of the bay. The food, which is excellent, includes Turkish & English cuisine, fresh local fish, steaks and more. The owners Serdar & Donna also offer Nargile (Turkish pipes), free wireless internet access and free local car service. Entertainment every Friday night.
Pizza Hatti ☻☻☻☻ Last Reviewed June 2009
The Pizza Hatti has been the most popular eatery in Akbuk for years, people of all nationalities find their way to this restaurant. The food is superb and the service very good, waiters often break into a run. This year Turan the owner has bought the restaurant next door and incorporated it into Pizza Hatti, so much bigger now to accommodate more customers.
Sumer Cafe ☻☻☻ Last Reviewed June 2009
You will be made very welcome here by owner's Sinan and his wife Birdal, nothing is too much trouble. Food is always very tasty and well presented, comfortable seating and surroundings. In July & August there is a live Turkish music band, every night, the bar is then overflowing with young Turkish holiday makers it’s a great atmosphere. Also available are Nargile (Turkish pipes) and free car service. On the negative side don't expect the price of the drinks to be the same as you paid during the day, on nights with entertainment they usually charge 50kr more, even if you have bought a ticket, I consider this a bit sneaky because they don't tell you, if in any doubt ask the prices first.
The Teapot ☻☻☻ Last Reviewed October 2009
More of a tea/cofee shop than a restaurant but well worth a mention, The Teapot which opened this year is a very smart, English owned & run, cafe. The food available includes cakes such as Victoria Sandwich, Lemon Meringue Pie, Doughnuts, Cheesecake, Apple Pie etc. The savoury snack menu consists of Ploughman's Lunch, Sandwiches, Quiche, Jacket Potatoes and Crumpets. They also sell English greetings cards and party goods as well as homemade gifts. This is also the only place in Akbuk where you can buy English newspapers. No alcohol but great tea's & coffee's. The Teapot also offer birthday cakes made to order.
